Biography
William was born in Indiana, son of William and Jane (Burns) Young. From the 1850 census, it appears that his younger siblings were born in Tennessee and Ohio, before the family moved to Davis County, Iowa, where a marriage certificate for Martha A. Coons and William M. Young was issued on 14 June 1852. They lived out their lives in Davis County.
