Biography

Sarah Elizabeth was born in about 1748; she was the daughter of William Young and Sarah (Lawrence) Young.

She married Richard Ottley on 12 June 1770 in Ivor, Buckingham, England.

In addition to the mentioned children, two sons also predeceased their mother. (Richard Ottley, 1730/1775, m(2) Sarah Elizabeth Young, daughter of Sir William Young, Bart, of Huntercombe, and had another 4 sons. One of these, William Young Ottley FRS, was art historian & first curator of drawings at the British Museum.^[1]

Sarah passed away on 14 March 1825 at the age of 76; she was buried on 22 March 1825 in Westminster, Middlesex, England.^[2] Her Obituary was carried in the 26 March edition of the Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser. ^[3][4]
