Mr. Heinz married, September 23, 1869. Sarah Sloan, daughter of Robert and Mary (Sloan) Young, of Allegheny county, Pennsylvania. The Youngs were a highly esteemed family of county Down, Ireland, and were of the Presbyterian faith.
