Research Notes
The 1850, 1860, and 1870 Census lists the names John Young and Elizabeth Young. Only the 1850 Census has children listed, ie John H., Hiram S. and Cinthia. All three Census have a Martha or Patsy Broadway, born in 1794, included with the family. This could be Elizabeth's sister. Find a Grave for John Henry Young lists his wife as Sarah "Salley" Broadway (b. 1798, d. 1842). He married Elizabeth Broadway in 1842, after Sarah Salley Broadway's death in 1842. Only the 1860 Census shows Elizabeth's place of birth as Virginia vice North Carolina.[12]
