Biography

Henry Snively Hildreth married Clara H. Young at Morristown, Morris, New Jersey, on 18 January 1908.

"In the drawing room of 'Ingleside,' the home in Morristown, N.J., of Mrs. John Maybury Young, was solemnized last week Saturday afternoon the marriage of her daughter Miss Clara H. Young, to Mr. Henry Snively Hildreth of this borough. The bride was given away by her brother Mr. J. Mansfield Young, and attended by her sister, Miss Young, as her maid of honor, and two flower-girls, the Misses Marguerite and Aleen Page. Mr. George Mullarky of this borough acted in the capacity of best man. The wedding was the outcome of a romance which had its beginning in the San Francisco disaster, Mr. Hildreth at that time having led Mrs. H. Young and her daughter to a place of safety."^[1]

Henry and Clara took a cruise on the SS Castilla from New York to New York, arriving on 22 Nov 1929. On the manifest, Henry shows his birth date as 7 Aug 1878, and Clara shows hers as 24 April 1884. Both say they were born in Brooklyn and currently live in Mountain Lakes, NJ.^[2]
