Claude Brownell Young was born in 1892 IN Windsor, Hants, Nova Scotia, Canada. He was the son of Alexander Young and Mary (Marsters) Young. He was a member of the Royal Naval Reserve and he served on the "HM Drifter Gavenwood". On February 20 1916, during enemy action, he was lost at sea aboard the HM Drifter Gavenwood. His body was not recovered. A stone was erected in his memory.
