Polly Ann Young was an American actress. From 1917 to 1941, she appeared in more than 40 films. Among her notable film roles was as John Wayne's leading lady in The Man from Utah, 1934. Her last film was the Poverty Row horror movie Invisible Ghost with Bela Lugosi, 1941.[1]
She was born 14 January 1908 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of John Mendell and Gladys Royal.
She married Carter Hermann 5 February 1936 in Los Angeles. He was 32 and she was 27 at the time of their marriage.[2] They were the parents of four children.
She died in 1997 of cancer in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 88. [3] Her remains were buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, Los Angeles.[4]

"Polly Ann Young, 88, an actress and sister of the better-known Loretta Young. Known for most of her life by her married name, Polly Ann Hermann, she was one of four actress sisters including Loretta and Georgiana Young and Sally Blane. The four appeared together in only one film, “The Story of Alexander Graham Bell.” Polly Ann Young appeared in several bit parts as a child and in the late 1920s graduated to grown-up leading lady roles. Her last films were “Road Show” and “The Invisible Ghost” in 1941. Among her other films were “The Masks of the Devil,” “Tanned Legs,” “The Bellamy Trial,” “Stolen Secrets,” “Hitchhike to Heaven” and “Border Patrolman.” On Tuesday in Los Angeles."
