Walter Young was an analytical chemist. He worked for Armstrong Whitworth in Elswick, Newcastle, He is said to have died of exposure on a moor after a night out drinking as a young man (aged 33). He was my grandfather's (Thomas Young) eldest brother and this story has been passed down through the family.
