Biography

William Young is an Anzac who served in World War One.

William was born on 7 July 1892 at Timaru (or Ashburton), New Zealand. He was the son of Andrew Young and Ellen Johnston.

In World War 1 he served with the 1st New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and was discharged after being wounded in action.

Around 1944, he married Freda Evelyn Bradley. They had at least two children.

He passed away on 16 July 1962 in Christchurch, aged 70, and was buried at Ruru Lawn Cemetery.
