Obituary

5 Nov 1908 - Lyons, Wayne, New York.
Mrs. E. D. Taylor, who ten days ago submitted to an operation in a Buffalo hospital for the removal of an ingrowing goiter, died at that institution last Thursday night. During the early part of Thursday the surgeon removed several stitches, noticed the wound was healing nicely and thought Mrs. Taylor would surely recover. Later in the day her system, which was full of poison caused by the goiter, utterly collapsed, and although four physicians worked over her every minute for several hours, her heart was not sufficiently strong to prolong life longer. Mrs. Taylor was 43 years of age and was the mother of three children, the youngest of which is 5 years of age. With the husband there survives Henry, George, Levi, Cornelius and Will Young, brothers and Mrs. Edward Schaub, of Buffalo, and Mrs. Charles Hanchett, of this village, sisters. The funeral was held Sunday and was largely attended. Mrs. Taylor was highly esteemed by all who knew her. For years she had suffered with hardly a word of complaint. She went upon the operating table cheerful and happy in the thought that recovery was but a matter of a short time. Those who knew of her dangerous condition and of her cheerfulness and Christian disposition are all the more saddened at her untimely demise. The husband and family have the sympathy of all. Note: Lulu Armeda Young Taylor, Mrs. E.D.Taylor, died 30 Oct 1908. [4]
