HENRY CALEB YOUNG, JR.

Henry Caleb Young, Jr. was born March 8, 1924 in Minden, Webster Parish, Louisiana to Henry Caleb Young and Ora Bell Spurlock. He died November 25, 1945 in France from a jeep wreck.

He enlisted in the military, September 21, 1943 and was killed November 25, 1945. He was a PFC in the 377th Parachute FA BN, 101st Airborne Division, US Army WWII. His Serial Number was 38-520-317. A Pension # XC-6,086,860 was shown.

In 1948 the military gave the families of the WWII dead, who were buried in foreign fields a choice to either have their bodies shipped home for reburial or to have them moved into military cemeteries.

An Application for a Headstone was made by his father, October 23, 1948 and verified November 1, 1948 and shipped from Columbus, MS. on December 2, 1948 to the Minden City Cemetery.
