Biography

Thomas Youngs was the son of John Youngs and Joan Jentilman, born 1 May 1625 in Southwold, Suffolk, England. He died in Elizabeth Town, N. J., between April and September 1686.[1]
One source[2] states - in error - that he had a daughter Martha who married David Gardiner of Gardiner's Island - "Martha, dau. of Capt. Thomas Youngs, fourth son of Minister John Youngs, of Southold" - but that Martha was the daughter of his brother Col. John Youngs.
He probably never married "and doubtless left no widow or children" as stated in the Youngs Family source. The same source states on the following page "By will, dated April 29th, 1686, he bequeathed all his estate to Christopher Youngs (probably son of his brother Christopher) and Thomas Longworth (who married Deborah, daughter of Col. John Youngs).
It was a Christopher Young and Thomas Longworth, and his brother, Col. John Youngs and father-in-law of Thomas Longworth, who are found in the records of East Jersey Deeds , Liber C, as follows:[3]
1686 Sept. 28. Do. Christopher Young and Thomas Longworth, both of Southold, L. I., to Henry Lyon of Elizabeth Town, for the whole estate, real and personal, excepting a sloop, bequeathed to grantors by their cousin Capt. Thomas Young of Elizabeth Town dec’d., by his will of April 29, 1686.
1686 Sept. 10. Assignment. Colonel John Young of Southold, L. I., to Samuel Wilsone of N. Y. and Henry Lyon of Elizabeth Town, of all his estate, right, etc. to a plantation at Young's Point, Elizabeth Town, formerly belonging to his deceased brother, Capt. Thomas Young.

I think this is the Thomas Youngs who married Sarah (Frost) Tuthill (1635-1728) and had a son Thomas and possibly a daughter Mary. Sarah, daughter of John Frost, married Thomas Youngs, son of Rev. John in 1658, and had a son Thomas with her in 1660.

Yes, the deed records refer to the Thomas Youngs born 1625 and died in Elizabeth (Town), New Jersey in 1686. This confirms the information in the Youngs Family source regarding his will and death information.
