Though originally finding Elizabeth Ann Barks as the wife of Samuel Francis Young through conjecture, I can now report using Ancestry.com ThruLines, I share DNA with descendants of Elizabeth's sister, Catherine Elizabeth Barks who married William Coleman. Several are 4th cousins with whom I share multiple segments.

Elizabeth Ann Barks (born 1819) is the likely first spouse of Samuel F Young (born 1815). She is the daughter of Nathaniel Barks (born 1776) and Elizabeth Barks (born 1803, Maiden Name Unknown). Elizabeth Ann Barks and Samuel Young were married 7 Jan 1841 in Cumberland County, NC. Their first two children were born in NC and the third in TN after they moved from NC to Jackson County, TN.

Besides farming, Samuel F. Young was a Cooper and Wagon Maker. Elizabeth Ann Barks had a sister named Catherine Elizabeth Bark (1824-1925). She married Willam Coleman (1819-1925) in Cumberland County, NC on 30 March 1841. William is also a Farmer and a Cooper.

US Census records and NC Marriage Records bear out the above.
