DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jacob by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jacob:
This Jacob c1750 is NOT the Son of Peter c1732-88...but the son of Peter c1725-c96; the brother of Abraham c1760-c1798, George c1765-c1807...and others
Tale of Three Peter Youngbloods
There were three distinct Peter Youngbloods AND often they have been merged …. And without YDNA and its prompting of new research…we could have never known any better. Descendants of these three Peter YBs YDNA matches 35-36/37 genetic markers…they were close relatives in 1730s. Here is a posting I put out on Ancestry…I have added best dates I have for more clarity. If I do not have a good date, designate c+/- 5 or 10 years
There are 3 Peter YBs born c1720-c1740 and died in c1788-c1795. For discussion purposes I distinguish by adding a circa date to each. Most dates are best efforts +/- 5-10 years,
Peter YBs born c1732 and died in c1788 in Augusta ...family - sons Samuelc1754-c1810/Susannah moved to Abbeville and died preparing to move to IN; Lewisc1760-1808/wife Rachel from Barnwell moved to Abbeville after 1790,died c1808; See wife Rachel on 1810 census and Josephc1760-1835 moved to Barnwell co and stayed there/wife Margaret & Mary as 2nd wife....3 descendants YDNA match 36-37/37 YDNA genetic markers.
I have reviewed this site below and overall, it is reliable to the best of the YDNA results I have + research

Our current belief is that this Peter is the son of Peter c1700 who was naturalized in 1739…YDNA supports but does not prove this as the YDNA is very close at 37 markers. PURPLE/35 Family
and
Peter YB c1725 died c1795 in Edgefield, SC sons Jacobc1750, Johnc1748, Georgec1765, Lewisc1748?, Abraham c1760 proven. Their descendants match 37/37 and land records show the connection. Possible, the John we see in these records is Peter’s brother John c1730+-? who would have the same YDNA profile as Peter…I may never find the bullet proof evidence or convince myself as to which is correct. Son John c1748 could also be the father of Joshua c1766, Isaac c1768, and Abrahamc1769 of Columbia GA PURPLE Family branch
New information - One other Wild card here is “Henry c1742-c1770” of Edgefield also matches 37/37 YDNA genetic markers of Peter c1725 (and would also match his brother John). This Henry was often documented as being the father of my ancestor Thomas c1745-1822 (GRAY Family branch). We have received a Bible page stating that this Henry actually was born in 1742. YDNA said that this Henry was not Thomas’s father…the Bible page added to the proof.
and Peter c17??(c1740) and died c1795 in Charleston, SC...sons David and Isaac...others not proven…daughter Ann and Elizabeth?. Our current belief is that this Peterc1740/5? is the son of Wm who was naturalized in 1739 son of Peter c1700 (or as far back as c1686?? By some)…YDNA supports but does not prove this. PURPLE/10 Family Branch
There remains massive uncertainty in Peter c1686…for lack of consistent data and all his potential sons and grandsons. Immigration records as transcribed said he was from Germany…which of course there was no Germany in 1739. Have yet to find the original immigration record.
Many Ancestry Trees have these 3 Peter YBs and their children mixed and mingled. This needs to be corrected on Family Data bases at this time.
NOTE: I have identified no ancestor of the John Miles YB c1708 family group with the name Peter. Some have with a wife Rachel, but I have found no proof.
