Larry Youngblood Bio Larry Youngblood is a fifth generation Texan coming to Texas after the Civil War and settling in Plantersville and Cedar Creek.(though distant cousins Solomon and Henderson Cozart got here earlier and had a bad day at Goliad). His Great grandfather was Rich Youngblood of George, Madison County. Otho Youngblood, former President of the Normangee State Bank. Grandmother Lela was an assistant of Dr. Bilsing of Normangee. My father Charles was born in Normangee, Graduated from Sam Houston State, WW-II veteran before moving to Harris County to work for Stanolind Oil. Larry has been a resident of the Houston area growing up in Alvin before moving to Houston and Cypress. He graduated from Milby High school and earned a BS in Physics from Texas A&M in 1971 while playing varsity baseball. Larry currently resides in Hilltop Lakes, Leon County. Larry started out as a teacher/coach at St. Thomas HS where he met Marie ( here we are 40+ years later)...and the U of H before beginning a career with an Offshore Exploration Company. Subsequently, he started his own company to provide to many companies the same financial accounting and economic forecasting computer services. He sold the company after 20 years to retire. Larry stayed out of politics until asked to run for the Cypress Fairbanks School Board where spending was out of control and voter communication severely lacking. We cut the budget (real cuts) two of three years and did not raise the M&O tax rate for his 3 year term. Though times were and are tough, CYFAIR never really had to consider teacher layoffs this year with the massive cutbacks in money for the Texas Budget. We had prepared for what was clearly seen coming down the road...we increased our fund balance from $58M to $102M over the last three years. Six years ago, Larry ran successfully for GOP Precinct Chair He ran for US Congress last election unsuccessfully. Duty and Patriotism requires activism by individuals on spending at the local, state level, and federal level. The Tea Party is my friend as are Conservative Republican clubs - Men's and Women's - all being the driving forces necessary to protect us from an abusive, irresponsible and unresponsive US House leadership and government. Larry’s hot button issues are: Spending Less, Taxing less, Common Sense living within our means, securing the border first, illegal immigration, protecting Constitutional rights, enforcing the laws and quality, cost effective education and protecting religious rights. He is an active member of and has made presentations to the numerous Tea Party and Republican Clubs around the District. These presentations were generally on Austin Legislation, Redistricting, Illegal Immigration related topics, Texas Border Volunteer Activities, the Arizona law, Border agents incarcerated for doing their jobs, and the governments lack of dealing with the financial and other issues in a common sense manner. It is clear that there are two major challenges facing us today in Washington DC...Repealing ObamaCare and a logical non-comprehensive approach to Illegal Immigration. Spending is totally out of control and must be stopped. Pay down Dramatically our debt. His hobbies include genealogy and history, studying the Constitution, volunteering on the border to help the Border Patrol and singing/playing country music
