Biography

Prince Leopold von Hochberg, Grand Duke of Baden.

In 1830 he succeeded Louis I as Grand Duke of Baden.

Death

He died on 24 April 1852.

He was buried in the Großherzogliche Grabkapelle (Grand Ducal Burial Chapel) in Karlsruhe.[1]

The first name is effectively the first name at birth, so under EuroAristo naming guidelines it shouldn't be Leopold I. That then goes in the preferred name.

Hochberg-50 and Zähringen-6 appear to represent the same person because: Although his parent's marriage was deemed morganatic and the resulting children were perceived as incapable of inheriting their father's dynastic status or the sovereign rights of the Zähringen House of Baden, the correct Last Name at Birth for this profile is Zähringen. In 1796 his mother Luise Karoline and her children were given the titles of baron and baroness, count or countess von Hochberg.

Leopold I Grand Duke of Baden is not a member of the Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld family. His LNAB should be Baden or perhaps Zähringen
