Carl Wilhelm Elias was born in Wolfenbüttel. He was the son of merchant Georg Bernard Zeitz and Johanne Wilhelmine Ernestine Kaulitz.
He married Adelheid Sophie von Holtz.
He passed away as a widower in 1893 in Bremen at the age of 79 years and 2 months.[1]
