NI0412According to his obituary, Carl, one of the old settlers of Washington County, married Miss Augusta Klug after his first wife died. He "led a quiet life and enjoyed good health until within a few days of his death." [West Bend Democrat, Wed. 12/15/1886]

According to his obituary, Carl "emigrated to America in 1849, and settled in the town of West Bend, one mile east of this city, where he engaged in farming until 1864. He has resided in this city the past 22 years, and leaves a wife and two children." [West Bend Times, Thurs. 12/16/1886]
