Note: Her family lived in Frederick Co. MD and little is known of their family history. Her Father perished in a snow storm and after the storm, neighbors rescued the widow and children from their snow-covered cabin, of which only the chimney could be seen. Her Mother unable to care for the children gave them up. She and her two Brothers, George and Nicholas were raised by their Uncle and Aunt Thomas and Mary Draper. When this brown-eyed, brown haired Anne grew to woman-hood, she cast her lot with the young Irishman, Daniel Askins, in the year 1828.
