Around June 2, 1852, William and his family left the USA and headed to Deseret, Utah Territory to help settle as Mormon pioneers. They started their travel from Kanesville, Iowa (now known as Council Bluffs, Iowa) with the Benjamin Gardner Company[3] and arrived in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah Territory on September 24, 1852.
Jude died at the age of 88 on 13 February 1900 in Calls Fort, Box Elder, Utah, United States and was buried in Calls Fort Cemetery [6]. Calls Fort is now Honeyville, Box Elder, Utah, United States.
