Research Notes

Marriage to Martha Ann Walker

William's marriage is documented in Louisiana marriage records,[1] where it is transcribed as Martha Wall. Her full name is clearly legible on his headstone - Marth Ann Walker. The supporting marriage documentation with her name truncated validates the information on the headstone and provides information on the date of the marriage in the same city where he died in 1854.[2] Martha Ann is buried in the same cemetery as Martha A. Jones. She remarried Enoch C. Jones after William's death and lived another 30 years.[3][4]
