Biography
Halldóra was born in 1672. She was the daughter of Arnór Ásgeirsson (~1630 - 1677) and Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir (1643 - >1710).
She was a renter at Núpur, Haukadalshreppur, Dalasýsla in 1703.
She was married to Jón Ásmundsson (abt.1660-). They had two chilren:
- Ásmundur Jónsson (1693-)
- Ingveldur Jónsdóttir (1705 - 1781)
She had one daughter with Jon Hakonarson (~1655 - 1748). They were not married.
- Helga Jónsdóttir (1702 - 1801)
Research Notes
- A woman kept her birth name all her life and did not take on her husband's last name as her own.
- Dotter, Datter, Dottir are all the same, meaning "daughter" in Scandinavia, and attached behind of the father's first name.
