Mary Ashfield was born in 1752, the eldest daughter of Honorable Lewis Morris Ashfield, the grandson of New Jersey Governor Lewis Morris and Elizabeth Redford [1]
On March 6, 1776, she married, then Monmouth County Sheriff, Elisha Lawrence at Shrewsbury, Monmouth County, Province of New Jersey. They had no known children.
Mary passed away in her 27th year, on April 14, 1779. She was buried the following day at the Ashfield Family Buying Ground, Trinity Churchyard, New York City, New York. [2]
Lewis Morris Ashfield 1734-1769), son of Vincent Ashfield and Mary Morris married February 4, 1748 Elizabeth Redford. His Will was dated August 5, 1769 and proved August 22, 1770.
