Biography

Frederick was born August 10, 1838 in Menslage, and baptised on September 4, the son of Johan Daniel Augustin and Catharina Margaretha Wolf. ^[1]

According to a passport application, Frederick immigrated to the US in October 1864, sailing from Hamburg, Germany. Also, according to the same document, he became a naturalized US citizen on April 28, 1870.^[2]

Frederick was married twice. His first marriage was to Johanna Freytag, with whom he had a daughter, also named Johanna. Johanna died shortly after giving birth to her daughter. Then, on April 30, 1878, Frederick married Louise Freytag,^[3][4] with whom he had two more children, Louise and Julius.

After the death of his wife Johanna Freytag, Julius Augustin would become a wealthy Judge and businessman in the Hicksville area.^[5]

Frederick passed away on February 2, 1896.^[6]
