Biography

Springer was born in 1804.

Springer Augustus was the 3rd-born of 10 known children of David A Augustus and Ann Hart, and was named after an uncle.

He was a farmer during his short life in Union Twp., Ross Co., and married Lucrecia Jane Jenkins on April 19, 1827 in Ross Co., Ohio. Parents of 9 known children, they lost 2 of their sons during the War Between the States: ROYAL, who died in battle at Stone River, Tenn., and THOMAS, who died as a Prisoner of War at Andersonville, GA.

He passed away in 1851.
