Biography

Gideon was born in 1800 and spent his life farming in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada then in Macon, Lenawee County, Michigan before settling in Carlyle, Clinton County, Illinois. He served briefly in the Ontario militia in 1822. His wife died of the neurodegenerative condition Huntington's disease. He passed away in 1872 after moving to Clinton county, Illinois in the late 1850s.
