Narcissus was born about 1877. She passed away about 1909 according to notes left by Hubert W. Herron. She is buried at the Perma Cemetary, Harper County, OK.
George William Herron's wife, Irene, told Hubert Herron on 12/28/80 that there is a gravestone on Narcissus Balch's grave that has not had names or dates put on it. It is 6" wide by 2' long by 2" thick. It is not far from the grave of George Washington Herron.
She had twin girls that died soon after birth. They are buried in the same cemetary
Had a sister they called Aunt Bell.
Had a half-sister, Allie Murphy, in DeMoine, IA. According to Ms. Murphy, they were descended from John and Martha Balch who came to America on 1623 and settled near Salem, Mass. A more detailed study of the Balch geneology at the following link, found that Narcissus A. is likely the daughter of Allison McCord Balch, who is the child of Monroe Young Balch. Monroe Young is referenced as No. 80 on page 460 of the Balch Geneology and is in the line of James Balch of the Maryland Balch's. I need additional sources to confirm Allison McCord Balch as the son of Monroe Young and to confirm Narcissus A. as the daughter of Allison McCord.
My father, Hubert W. Herron recorded conversations with his aunt Irene (daughter of Narcissus A.) about Narcissus, aunt Allie (Allie Balch Murphy) and Aunt Bell (Jessie Belle Balch).
