Biography

Birth

The 1932 Ball genealogy says that Rebecca Ball was born at either Alstead or Acworth, New Hampshire, on 10 Jun 1836, the daughter of William Ball and Jane C. (Hayward) Ball.^[1] Her death record says that she was born to that couple at Alstead, and her age at her death computes to a birth date of 10 Jul 1836.^[2] In 1850, she was living with her parents at Alstead at the age of 14.^[3]

Marriage

Rebecca Ball married Jonas T. Green on 11 Apr 1854.^[1]

In 1860, Jonas Green, 44, farmer, and Rebecca Green, 24, were living at Alstead, New Hampshire, with Milon P. Green, 4, and Rebecca's sister, Prudence J. Ball, 27.^[4]

In 1870, Jonas Green, 55, farmer, and Rebecca Green, 34, were living at Alstead with Milan Green, 14, Ida Green, 8, and Herbert W. Green, 5.^[5]

In 1880, Jonas T. Green, 67, farmer, and his wife Rebecca Green, 43, were living at Alstead with their sons, Milan F. Green, 24, farmer, and Herbert W. Green, 15, and their daughter, Ida J. Green, 18, teacher.^[6]

Jonas Green died of pneumonia at Alstead on 12 Feb 1893.^[7]

Death

Rebecca (Ball) Green died from heart disease at Alstead, New Hampshire, on 18 Jul 1896, with her age at her death recorded as 60 years, 8 days.^[2]
