Biography

Edmund was the son George Barrett-Lennard a Barrister at Lincoln Inn.

Montreal, 1839 Swan River Colony

He was the nephew of Edward Pomeroy Barrett-Lennard and arrived in the colony with his uncle in 1839 in the Montreal.
He lived at St Leonards in the Upper Swan with his uncle and subsequently took over running his uncle's property St Aubyns Estate in Beverley.
In 1854 he selected 1,000 acres on the Dale River for his own property and eventually increased it to 5,000 acres.
He called the property Annandale, and lived there until his death.

On 19 June 1888 he married Nina Priggen. Her father was Baron Meyer Janovic Priggen of Severin. Her brother was William Bowen Priggen and he was a cashier at the National Bank. She also appears to have had another brother named Norman.
By December 1889 she had separated from Edmund and there was a court case between Edmund and William.
He died age 72 from apoplexy, and he was buried in East Perth Cemetery.
