Lewis Arthur Bartron was born on March 4, 1873 in Barton, Barton, Tioga, New York, United States, son of Philip Arthur Bartron and Amy Ann (Wheeler) Bartron.

Lewis married Frances Nellie (Barden) Bartron (born in East Waverly, Tioga). Their daughter was Mamie (Bartron) House (1895–1984).
