Biography

Albert was born in 1866. He was the son of Henry Bassmann and Christina Jackschon.

He married HENRIETTA GRACE WINTON in 1891. Grace Winton was the daughter of the proprietors of the Ballina Hotel. Amelia, Albert's younger sister, married Walter A. Winton (Alf) in 1894.

They had four children:

Bert

Stella Christina

Horace

Arthur

Albert and Grace's children Bert, Stella Christina, Horace and Arthur spent their childhood at Cumbalum and were educated at Tintenbar. (Stella was a family historian and you can read about Stella and her family life in her own writings.)

He died at Byron Bay in 1923 and is buried in Ballina, New South Wales.
