Mary Baty and John Raine were married, by licence [3], at Edlingham Parish Church in Northumberland on 16 September 1783. Their witnesses were Hester Charlton, Elizth Baty and Ro. Baty. [4][5]
Mary was a beneficiary in the will of her Uncle Richard Baty, and [6] She was mentioned in the will of her sister, Mrs Elizabeth Beaty[7]
In period between 1821 to 1827, Mary Raine was residing at Great Coram Street, Camden, London, England.[8]
On the 13th April, 1821, Mrs Raine, mother of Captain Raine, met Mary Reibey, at Mr and Mrs Hoskings of No 10 Calthorpe Place Grays Inn road. [9]Mrs Raine invited Mary Reibey for tea on 22 April 1822. (Easter Sunday).[10]Mary Reibey saw Mrs Bowmaker at Mrs Raines April 24th at Great Coram Street, Brunswick Square, No. 43.[11]
Mrs Raine arrived in Australia on 7th April 1827 aboard the ship "Elizabeth" along with her grandson Master Raine.
SHIPPING INTELLIGENCE ARRIVALS.--On Saturday, the Ship Elizabeth, Captain Collins, from Plymouth Nov. 25th. Passengers - Captain Murray, H. P. (late Paymaster) 48th. Regiment; Mr. T. and Miss Murray; Rev. Mr. Wilton and Lady; Mrs. Raine, (Mother of T. and J. Raine, Esqrs. Merchants) and Master Raine (Son of the latter gentleman) ; Major Ellerington, H. P.; Mrs. and Master Ellerington ; Mrs. Ray ; Mrs. Westbrook; Mrs. Smith; Messrs. Palmer and W. Palmer ; Mr. and Mrs. Bisday; Dr. Craig and Mr. Unwin, with 32 Steerage Passengers - (for Lading see manifest). [12], [13]
She passed away on 9 September 1839 at Rainham and was buried in the Kelso Cemetary, on 13 September 1839.[14]
