Biography
Morel was born in New York, in 1822, to Levi and Catherine Smith Beals. He graduated from Harvard in 1849. He married Caroline Wells in 1852. They had nine children together. Morel was a teacher and a physician. His family hopscotched across the US, moving west primarily, for his career. He died in Michigan, in 1889, at the age of 67.
