JAMES C. BEATTY
69, of 1434 Sunset Avenue, died at 11:40 p.m. Thursday in Sunnyland Villa. He was born in Clark County on April 29, 1917, a son of Owen and Alta (Reed) Beatty. He had been employed as a carpenter in the construction industry for approximately fifty years. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, No. 8673; past-President and member of, Carpenters Union, Local 660; the Springfield Building Trades Council; the Clark County CB Club; and had served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Survivors include his wife Annabelle; a son, Jon A. Brumfield, of Lakeview; three sisters, Mrs. Marlan (Mary) Wood and Mrs. Robert (May) Gunther, both of Springfield, Mrs. Leslie (Toni) Oates, of South Charleston; three brothers, Carl, of Springfield, Leonard, of Santa Clara, California, Donald, of Corinth, Mississippi; one granddaughter Heather R. Brumfield and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Conroy Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7- 9 p.m. Sunday. VFW Post 8673 will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Rev. R. R. Garrett officiating. Burial in Ferncliff Cemetery.
