Biography
OBITUARY: GLORIA B. GUZMAN, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother sadly passed away on November 11, 2022 at the age of 87. She was a wonderful and beautiful person who was always there when you needed her. She was loved by those who knew and met her. Gloria loved to laugh and be surrounded by her family and friends. She loved to cook and was great at it. She had a wonderful talent in all different types of artworks and was even a Cub Scout Leader. Gloria had a great sense of humor and was someone you could easily talk to or be consoled by. She will truly be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Gloria was born April 20, 1935 in Las Cruces NM, and was the loving wife of Mike for 65 years and loving and caring mother of 3 son, David Guzman and significant other, Jennifer, Eli Guzman, and Abel Guzman; loving grandmother to, Kevin Guzman and wife Delores, and great grandson Caleb and granddaughter Brooklyn Guzman; she is also survived by her sister Connie “Chelo” Diaz and husband Henry. Gloria was preceded in death by her father Robert Benavidez; mother Elvira K. Nevarez; sister Esperanza “Hope” Martinez, and grandson Corey Guzman.
Visitation for Mrs. Guzman will begin at 10 AM Monday, November 28, 2022 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina Street with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress Road where she will be laid to rest in the family plot.
