Biography

Born Percival was born in 1890 ^[1] and baptised on 8 February 1891 in Bottesford, Leicestershire ^[2]. He was the son of Mark Bend, railway platelayer and his wife Annie, dressmaker.
In 1891 ^[3] and in 1901 ^[4] he was living with his parents and siblings at 2 Bunkers Hill Bottesford, Leicestershire.
In 1911 ^[5] he was a "Coal Miner Hewer" lodging with the 68 year old widow Elizabeth May in Tupton Derbyshire.

Married On 13 February 1914 Percival married Clara Swain in North Wingfield ^{[6] [7]}.
Clara and Percival had six children:

• Percival M Bend b1920
• Harold Bend b 1921

In 1939 ^[8] Percival, "General Labourer" and Clara were living with their son Ernest "gardener" at Far Press Tupton Derbyshire. There are two further entries that are blackened out; probably Percival jr and Harold, as well as Robert H Bend b1883, possibly Percival's brother. The Bend line has not yet been researched

Died Clara died in 1956 ^[9].
Percival died age 80 in 1971 ^[10]. Probate was granted on 30 April 1971 in Sheffield; effects £8947 ^[11]
