A keen bowler he was Champion of Dudley Bowling Club, Leith in both 1963 and 1979 and was elected Club President in 1974.

Employed for many years by John Crabbie & Son, Leith.

Peacefully at Queensberry Lodge, on Wednesday January 24 1996, after a long illness, John (formerly of Dudley Bowling Club and Crabbie), beloved husband of the late Nan (nee Gillies), devoted father to June, Bill and the late John, adored father and great-grandfather to all the family. A service will be held at Seafield Crematorium on Monday January 29 at 11.00am. Family flowers only please. Sadly missed. All together forever,
