Biography

Maria Blauvelt was born on February 24, 1782, in Clarkstown, New York to Joannes Blauvelt and Catharine Tallman . She was baptized on 4 March 1782 in the Clarkstown Dutch Reformed Church in Clarkstown, New York. She married John Van Houten on October 9, 1800, in Rockland, New York. They had one child during their marriage. She died on April 7, 1844, in New City, New York, at the age of 62, and was buried in Martinus Hogenkamp Cemetery there.
