The following list includes the names of all members of the Y.A.F.L. who have been included in the party which will sail for the Eastern States by the s.s. Kyarra on Saturday (to-day). An analysis of the list will show that West Australian born boys are best represented, the birth places of the lads being as follows:— Western Australia 15, Victoria 8, New South Wales 4, South Australia 2.
As the first object of the committee is to make the tour of educational value, a selection of candidates was aimed at, with a view to securing as many as possible who had never been away from the State. With three exceptions, all who have been born outside of Western Australia, arrived as children, too young to retain any recollections of their birth places. With the names of each lad is given town of birth, football record, and the school be represents in parentheses:—
Frank W. Buggins, Albany, W.A., (Subiaco), played in test against Newcastle. 1907.
Alick G. Blechynden, Beverley, W.A.. (North Fremantle), secretary school club, 1906 and 1907.
Harold S. Crawford, Perth (Newcastle street), captain first Australian team at
his school, and first YAFL. premiers of the Perth division. One of the Perth
representatives in combined tests against the goldfields. 1905-6.
Arthur G. Curlewis, Queenscliffe, Victoria, (Fremantle Boys), secretary White Gum Valley club 1905. Played in YAFL. championship team, 1906, captain Fremantle Boys, 1907.

Killed in Action. - SERGT. ALICK BLECHYNDEN
On Monday last Mr. C. E. Blechynden received word from the military authorities that his son, Sergt. Alick Blechynden, had been killed in action in France on 28th February last.
The deceased, who was 25 years of age, was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Blechynden, of this town, and joined up as a private with the
A.I.F. on the 15th March, 1915.
He served in the Gallipoli campaign, arriving there soon after the landing, where be was constantly in the trenches until he contracted fever, which necessitated his admission to hospital at Alexandria, and he was subsequently invalided home to the West.
After about three months sick leave he returned to duty in France, where he had been in active service up to the time of his death. When he visited his home about twelve months ago he held the rank of Lance-Corporal and was promoted to Corporal upon his return to duty, subsequently being raised to the rank of Sergeant about three months ago, and at the time of his death he had a good prospect of attaining commissioned rank.
We join with their many friends in extending to the bereaved parents and family our sincere sympathy in their sad loss.
