Elsie was born in 1902. She was the daughter of Christ Bohnenstiehl and Lena Unknown. She passed away in 1962.

Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Saturday, September 8, 1962, page 2: A requiem mass for Mrs. Elsie S. Hans will be read Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic church with the Rev. Ralph S. Guido officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Mrs. Hans, 60, of 222 East Union St., died Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Anthony's Hospital, Alton, where she had been a patient a week. Born May 4, 1902 in Jarvis township in Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Christ and Lena Froehrich Bohnenstiehl. She was married to Henry Hans Jr. on June 26, 1935 at St. Mary's Catholic church. Surviving in addition to her husband are three brothers and a sister, Christ, Leonard and Richard Bohennstiehl, all of Collinsville, and Mrs. Linda Long, Ottumwa, Ia. Mrs. Hans was a member of St. Boniface Catholic church. Friends may call at the Weber funeral home after 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The rosary will be recited Sunday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased: Norman, Paul, Albert and Rodger Bohnenstiehl, Charles and John Giavonda.
