She was born on April 5, 1930 in Trigg County the daughter of Fred Boren and Dollie Atkins Boren. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Rev. John Ray Sweeney in 1981, her second husband Gordon Jessup in 2011, 3 sisters Mary Grace Boren, Betty Boren Hill, Ruth Boren Lester, a brother James Odell Boren, a granddaughter Jamie Michelle Sweeney Plummer, a daughter-in-law Freda Tapp Sweeney, a great granddaughter Kenzie Beth Decker and Step-mother Lois Jones Boren.

She is survived by four sons Maurice (Kay) Sweeney of Greenville, John Mark (Ronda) Sweeney of Greenville, Michael Sweeney of Livermore, Rocky Sweeney of Bremen, 2 daughters Linda (Barry) Lile of Greenville, Lana (Kenny) Dennis of Greenville, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a sister Dorothy Boren Jenkins of Greenville, 2 step-brothers Jim (Selina) Jones of Greenville, J. W. (Kim) Jones of Morganfield, KY

There will be no visitation. Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
