Bernice Lucille Bothwell was born 19 February 1900 in Hannibal, Oswego County, New York, United States. She was the daughter of Bernice Raymond Bothwell and Ella Jane Guile.

In 1940 she was living in Auburn, Cayuga, New York.[8] The household included James C Ferris 47, wife Lucille B Ferris 40, daughter Mary E Ferris 15, daughter Barbara J Ferris 13, daughter Nancy B Ferris 9, son James C Ferris 8, and son David B Ferris 7. James was a secretary at a banking institution.
She died on 16 April 1991.[9][10]

Do not confuse her with Lucille Hill, daughter of John Hill and Mary Jennings who married Charles C Ferris. That Lucille was born in St Louis 5 May 1907 and died 27 May 1994 in Florida.
