Biography

Bastiaan Nicolaas Bouman, born 8 April 1848[1] in Wijk, Noord-Brabant, Nederland, son of Klaas Bouman and Jenneke Vos. He passed away 25 September 1938[2][3] in East Saugatuck, Allegan Co, Michigan and was buried at the East Saugatuck Cemetery in Saugatuck, Michigan[4]

Bastiaan married 4 September 1878[5] in Haarlemmermeer, Noord-Holland, Nederland, with Klaartje de Weerd.

Bastiaan emigrated in 1893 with his wife Klaartje de Weerd and their 11 children from the Netherlands to the United States. They travelled with the ship Werkendam and arrived 12 May 1893 at Ellis Island in New York[6].
