Research Notes

Sarah's birth record gives a birthdate of 21 Jan 1884. ^[3] Other sources give the year as 1880, eg the 1881 census (where she would not appear if actually born in 1884). Perhaps the birth was registered late, and the year changed to avoid a possible penalty? The record shows that the birth of her sister Ida Elizabeth was registered on the same day.
