Abigail Braddick was born about 1713[1][2] in Southold, Suffolk, New York, British Colonial America. Her parents were Capt. John Braddick[3] and Mary Cutler.[4] She married Richard Coit on 12 Oct 1743 in New London, Connecticut, by Rev. Eliphalet Adams[3] Together they had 1 child: Martha Coit, Richard passed away on 3rd October 1765 from Lung Fever after illness.[4]
After her husbands decease, Abigail married James Chapman on 7 Jun 1767 in New London, Connecticut[5][4]
She died aged 57 on February 25, 1770 in New London, Connecticut,[2] and was buried at the Ye Towns Antientest Cemetery (Now known as Ancient Cemetery)[1][6]
