George Arthur Harwin Branson was born on July 11, 1871 in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England, United Kingdom, son of James Henry Arthur Branson (1839–1902) and Mary Ann Brown (1842–1927).[1]

He was known professionally as G. A. H. Branson, and was an English barrister, he became a judge of the High Court of Justice. In that role he was known as Mr Justice Branson.

In his youth Branson was notable as an oarsman and rowed in the University of Cambridge boat for the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race of 1893. He was the grandfather of Richard Branson.

George (43) married Mona Joyce Bailey (25) (born in 1889 in Taynuilt, Argyll, Scotland, United Kingdom; daughter of George James Bailey and Edith Emma (Headley) Bailey) on March 27, 1915 in St Giles, London, England.[2]

George died on April 23, 1951, aged 79.[3] He was buried at All Saints Churchyard, Bradfield Combust, Suffolk, England.[4]
