Biography

Ora A Brasher was born on February 16, 1888, in Calhoun, Mississippi. She was the sixth child and third daughter of John Brasher and Artemissa Harbin.

She married William Richard White, her second cousin, in about 1909 in Mississippi. They had six children in 20 years. Their grandmothers Georgia Ann Chrestman and Matilda Chrestman were half-sisters who had the same father, Samuel Widener Wyder Jacob Chrestman, but different mothers.

She died on December 26, 1974, in Tutwiler, Mississippi, at the age of 86, and was buried in Sumner, Mississippi, in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
