Sarah Kingsman and Thomas Elijah Bridges were married on the 31st October 1911 at Fulham Registry Office. Thomas gave his age as being 23 (correct) and his profession as a Waterside Labourer. He was a bachelor, living at 11 Colemans Buildings, Askew Road, Shepherds Bush. His father was Thomas Augustus Bridges, a general labourer. Witnesses to the marriage were Annie and Robert Stanley, the latter making his mark. [2]
At the time Sarah gave her age as 20. According to her death certificate and baptismal record she was born in 1894, so her age was actually 17. Her address is given as 14 Gayford Road, Shepherds Bush. Her father is noted as being Richard Kingsman (deceased), a general dealer. In fact, her father was still alive at this time, dying 13 years later in 1924.
Tom was a general labourer and oftimes a small time trader but between 1902 and 1903 he was a Railway Van guard at Paddington Gardens, Middlesex, employed at the rate of 10 shillings per week. [3]
In 1911 he was a hawker living at 39 Sirdar Road, Notting Hill [4]
He died in hospital in 1942 [5] and was buried in Acton Cemetery on the 28th August [6]

Paternal relationship is confirmed by a MyHeritageDNA test match between Derrick Watson and his 2nd cousin once removed. Their most-recent common ancestors are James Bridges and Ann Dorset, Tom's grandparents. Predicted relationship from MyHeritage: 2nd cousin to 2nd cousin once removed, based on sharing 222 cM across 12 segments.
