Robert Brockbank was born in Lancashire, England.

Robert Brockbank (1787- ) was born in Hawkshead, Lancashire, England on 8 Nov 1787.

In 1841, Robert, Agnes and 3 of his children are living at Fold Yeat, about 1.75km south of Hawkshead, Lancashire on the bank of Esthwaite Water and he is listed as a carpenter. ^[1] In 1851, Robert and his family were still living at Fold Yeat, Lancashire. ^[2]

By 1861, he is widowed, and has moved to Hannakin, a hamlet 1km south of Hawkshead and still shown as working as a carpenter. ^[3] By 1871, still in Hannakin, he has retired. ^[4]

He died in 1874 aged 86 years in the Ulverston registration district, Lancashire, ^[5] and was buried on the 23rd July 1874 at St Michael & All Angel's Churchyard, Hawkshead, Lancashire. ^[6]

He and his wife Agnes had 9 children, 7 of whom survived to adulthood.
