Luther was the son of Luther Martin Browning and Harriet Ann King.[1] (Williams gives mother as Hannah on p. 877 and Harriet on p. 878; census records support Harriet.) He married Sarah Brandenburg on 25 April 1861.[1]
"Luther Henry Harrison Browning, deceased, for nearly half a century a well-known farmer and resident of Plane No. 4, New Market District, Frederick County, Md., son of Luther Martin and Hannah Ann (King) Browning, was born in Montgomery district, Montgomery County, Md., March 11, 1840."[2]
